Sandbaggers: what to do with those unused upgrade points

Sell them on eBay!

Someone called this out on the BA Cyclocross group - this is the funniest thing I've read in a while...

Ebay Listing: Cyclocross cross upgrade points from Verge sandbaggers

Be sure to read the Q&A section.

I wonder if Casey will allow you to use any of these points...

Venue Change for Sacramento CX #5

Dear racers,

There has been a last minute venue change for round 5 of the Sacramento Cyclocross series. Due to environmental reasons, Beales Point will not be available for this Saturday's race.

The race instead will be held at Granite Beach, where rounds 3& 4 were held just two weeks ago. I as well as Folsom State Parks apologize for the inconvenience.

I know we have used Granite Beach many times over the years, but I think there is still plenty new lines to discover. The course for this Saturday's race will be a combo of the two courses used most recently. There will be NO sandpit run but plenty of fast riding and some technical sections too.

Thank you,
Rich Maile

Rain, Where You At

Don't know if any of you noticed while out basking in the sunshine and warmth (ain't global warming great?) but we've barely had any rain since October. What's up with that? This isn't Arizona!
A crosser needs a solid dose of vitamin M on a regular basis to avoid going crazy and start eating gravel.
Hence the following post on the yahoo norcal cyclocross boards, which I encourage every rider to join in:
Mass consciousness experiment, everyone think RAIN for Sunday 12/2 at Central Coast CX. Think and visualize down pouring sheets of rain, mud, muck, and glory! Spread the word...MUHAHAA. -f1reh0rse
Sounds like a worthy experiment....

East Bay CX Nov 24th canceled

From Robert Leibold

I've had to cancel my Nov 24 CX race, and my computer is in the shop after going down for (presumably) the last time. I can't access my website to announce cancellation. Can you get the word out to riders via John Funke and/or other methods? I should be back up and running by the weekend.
Thanks,
--Robert Leibold

old spice and mariachi

Peak Season

it's on. it's on in ways that probably shouldn't be made public. a new venue in the sCruz ... Pinto Park. Sabine (surf city promotress) found it on a summer ride and recommended to Gill-maestro.

I cannot wait to see this gig. no official PA. ... but, if the van's a rockin.

Shamelessly Stolen Surf City Scribblings

Funke's off nursing a sore back, I'm up to my neck in diapers and NCNCA Cup error fixes, and Hernando's too busy postin the love in his own blog to add content here, so I'm just gonna link to his great Surf City report. Click here to check it out. See, great stuff is happening here this fall, it just ain't getting reported at NCNCA.org. No matter, y'all should be outdoors enjoying this fine weather while it lasts.
