Velo Girls Cross Clinic 2010

Clinic info. from Lorri Lee Lown - Velo Girls Coaching Services has our annual co-ed cyclocross clinic on the calendar for Saturday, August 7th @ 1:00pm in San Mateo. This year, the dynamic duo of Julie + Paule Bates from Team Roaring Mouse will be our guest coaches, sharing their skills + experience with the masses.

Newbie ready to learn skills and the ins + outs of the sports? This clinic is for you!

Been racing a while and want to take your game up a notch or two? This clinic is for you!

Heckler who wants to see Paule demonstrate his infamous "showgirl kick?" Yeah, we've got that, too.

This 4-hour clinic focuses on fundamental skills (mounting, dismounting, barriers, and carrying the bike) as well as tips on tactics, equipment, and race preparation. After skilling + drilling, we'll finish the day with a simulated race and de-brief (code for a frosty beverage while bragging about your day).

Registration is here: https://www.signmeup.com/68201

Space is limited and this clinic is filling quickly, so I would encourage you to register soon!

Which Cross Bike For 2010? Disc Brakes? Carbon Jumping Machines?

With disc brakes now being allowed for Cyclocross bikes on a UCI level, and bunny hop board sections being recommended by the UCI for most courses, it will be very interesting to see how bicycle manufactures piece together the 2010/2011 Cross bikes. Cyclocross Magazine always has up to date info on the most trick rides & newest equipment from the worlds leading Cyclocross manufactures. Below I put together a few links to study up on as the 2010-11 Cross season becomes a reality in a few months time. Yet some of the reviews are only a few months old and already seem ancient. The 2011 Cross bikes will be amazing and I am sure Northern California will have some of the most sweet Cross rides available before too long. Nor-Cal is all about bike porn, with competitors racing on Pro Tour level equipment even in the beginning divisions of the sport. It will be very interesting to see what transpires with Cross equipment design in the near future and beyond...
